Endo adhesions on bowel or bladder?

Does anyone have Endo adhesions on their bowel or bladder?  If so did you have symptoms and how was it diagnosed?

Re: Endo adhesions on bowel or bladder?

  • Yep, I did.  In fact mine were mostly concentrated in those areas and didn't really involve my uterus or tubes at all.  My weirdest symptom was spotting because I had chalked up my other symptoms that I had been having for years to IBS (horrible gas pains, back and forth with diarrhea and constipation, etc.)  I was told those can be signs of endo on the bowel but after having all of my adhesions removed those symptoms have not resolved so I guess it it IBS.  The spotting hasn't resolved either though so who knows.  Apparently endo and IBS are linked as well as endo and thyroid or autoimmune disorders (which I also have).  HTH

  • I was diagnosed through a lap.  I really didn't have any symptoms beforehand, well, at least not directly related to my bowels or bladder. With that said, occassionally I have this pulling feeling near my left hip which makes me wonder if it's not related to the adhesions. I notice it more when I'm nearing a BM, although I'm really not sure if it's related.   I had the surgery because an u/s showed a complex cyst on my ovary, which ended up being an endometromia.

After my lap I noticed a difference with my bladder.  It seems that my ability to distinguish a full bladder kind of went away.  A year later, it is much better but for a long time after my Lap I would feel like I needed to go more frequently then I actually did.

  • I did prior to lap. All over my bladder, ureters, and colon. I did notice that I always had "loose stools" during my period, but I never made the connection. They actually had to re-section my ureters during the lap because they were so damaged- I had a hard time urinating for a few weeks after the lap.

  • Yep, I have/had it on both. Had it diagnosed through my lap. I always had what I thought was IBS. Since the surgery and 4 round of Lupron, my supposed IBS is virtually gone.
