Trying to Get Pregnant

Giving birth to your uterus

TMI...I know, but having come off the pill my cramps are HORRIFIC!  I feel like im 13 again.  This is my 5th cycle off BC and each one is equally horrible.  I was SO excited to get AF this cycle as we will TTC the first time this month.......and now that its here I just PRAY I get KU and have 9 months without AF!!!!  I took tylenol, but hesitated as I'm trying to keep all meds out of my system.  Anyone have any other cramp remedies that are not medicinal????

  • I love my electric heating pad.  If you can't lounge around on the couch all day, though, those Thermal Care menstrual heating pads are also awesome, and they last a good 6 hours.  Sometimes though, you just gotta pop the pills.  I know the pain are you describing, and I would just take the Tylenol.

    Hope you feel better soon.

  • Heating pads. And having DH massage my lower back. Those both work for me.

  • lol, I love the title to this thread. Wink

My AF pain varies from month to month. A few cycles ago I was literally in tears from the pain. I took a TON of pain meds and lived with a heating pad plastered to my abs. I know, you were looking for med-free. This one was bad.

On less severe months I take many hot baths - hot hot hot, as hot as you can stand, or as hot as my water tank will make it - and I do a lot of yoga. Anything that really stretches out your abdomen is good. If might feel like hell at the time, but afterward I usually have a good reprieve (I spend a lot of time in child's pose or wisdom pose at the end Smile)

  • Thanks everyone!  I might run at lunch to get the stick on heat thingy.......Its about all I can do at work.  Its amazing how 12 years of BC makes you forget how bad cramps used to be!!!!!!

  • I'm right there with you sista!  I have a highly heated heat pad that I've been hugging all morning, and all night last night.  If you are home all day and aren't going anywhere, and drink alcoholic beverages...add some kaluha to a morning coffee or milk...I'm probably gonna get flammed for that since I don't know what time zone you're in...but whatever!  If I didn't have to work today, I would have!!  Hope the pain subsides soon!

  • Ditto the heating pad, I also drink some green tea, and that seems to help me a little.  But I do take tylenol too.  It is save to take when you are pg too.

  • Starbucks is my cure. The warm caffeine really helps (its one of the ingredients in midol)
