Called the geneticist about the fatigue and behaviors

After reviewing Chris' schedule it seems as if there's not much down-time that he is given in school.  He goes from one class, his preschool disabled, to lunch, to his ABA class.  He's not given time to play and not given any down time.  It was suggested to ask for some downtime for him and if the behaviors continue pull him out of an all day program.  He has afterschool therapy 2 times a week.  I could see if the negative behaviors were in the morning but they are in the afternoon.  We kept him home from school for 2 mornings in a row and his behaviors were much better in the afternoon.

Re: Called the geneticist about the fatigue and behaviors

  • I sent him in for 1/2 days on M and T and he was much better.  Yesterday was a full day and he was fine.  Sounds horrible but I have been sick for a few days so I sent him so I could nap.  I talked to his case manager who said they will do a FBA and send in their behavior specialist to do a behavior plan.  She agreed that they need to give him more down time.  His case manager also said that the outside therapies are not affecting his behavior now.  If it were the outside therapies that were the root cause of the behavior we would have seen them since day one with behaviors.  Instead it seems as if the academics are getting harder and his fatigue is kicking in.  Besides him knowing they are too hard (which he is telling me) she agreed that maybe it is getting too hard for him.  Once the FBA is complete we will probably have to come in for an IEP meetingn.
