Where did my sweet quiet baby go?

This week I think DD has become more aware of the fact that she is not in my belly anymore or something because when she is not sleeping she is crying constantly. Its not a whaling cry and she can be calmed down so I dont suspect colic she is just being needy. The first few weeks she could be awake and happily sit there in her swing or bouncer taking it all in, this week, no way, she keeps whining. It is getting bad at night too.

Lastnight I cracked a little, I told DH it was okay to go to sleep cuz he has to work and I am still on mat. leave so I would stay up. Well after almost 2 hours of tending to her (feeding, cuddling, changing diapers, giving her a binky, everything) trying to get her to settle down to sleep I woke up DH and just said "here, take her, its your turn, I cant get her to settle down" He tended to her until it was time for the next feeding, I BF'd her and then had her lay in the bed with me (something I am trying to avoid) I think she finally went to sleep around 4am.

I just want to know where my quiet little baby went? Anyone else experience this when their LO was 3-4 weeks?

    Sounds like a growth spurt.

    LO's go through them around 3 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, etc....

    My LO did the same as youre explaining at 3 weeks, and just got done with the 6 week one... And it was torture. Lasted about 3 days, and now I have my perfect baby back!

    DD's like that! right now we're fighting gas, but before she was inconsolable til midnight/2 am.  She's a little better now.

    Yea, DS is more fussy than he was before.. and he really only sleeps on me or in our bed.. Which I was also trying to avoid.. But my RNP is coming today.. so hopefully that will help!

    My LO was born same day as yours- and yes hes being a little jerk lately! ahahh. He was a sleepy little angel until a few days ago- Now hes either crying because hes hungry or just crying because hes awake. I thought his growth spurt was dying down- but he seems more miserable than ever. Ahhhh the joys!

    My LO did the same this past week.  She's 4 months today and I think just finished her first growth spurt.  She cried all day long yesterday and a few days before.  I think she has some gas issues too, I'm planning on picking up some gripe water.  She will only sleep 3+ hours if she's in my in arms in bed with me now too.  We all try to avoid sleeping with our babies, but my mantra is whatever works for the mom and makes her happy!
