Please recommend your...

foam play mat. Which one do you have, do you like it, and if your baby is older, is he/she still using it?

Thanks!

  • Do you mean like those interlocking square things? We have carpeted floors in most rooms so we don't have anything like that. Are you just needing some cushion for a hrs floor? You might also look at carpet remnants. Those foam deals can be expensive and I wouldn't imagine you'd need it very long.

  • Omg I was at the issaquah walgreens last night and they have (in the easter aisle at the end of the toys) a bunch of the interlocking mats that are only like $5!  I couldn't believe how cheap they were.  You might try those!  I would have totally had those for Cruz if we didn't have carpet for him to play on!

  • I see some occasionally for around ten bucks at Ross sometimes. It's hit or miss, I know, but they're the alphabet ones. I think they have ones at TRU, but they're usually more expensive. I did see an indoor/outdoor foam mat that rolls at TRU, but I couldn't find the price anywhere. It looked like a decent size and it was recommended for the beach, your patio (to go under a small play area like a slide or something), inside on a hardwood floor or even on carpet for extra cushion. I'd like to get one to put in our backyard when Em is out there playing on stuff, but DH doesn't think it's necessary.

I'm going to look at Costco for the bigger grey foam garage mats for outside.  I just got a Step 2 climber / slide that I want to put on the deck and want a little cushion under.  Then my husband can reuse them when they are out grown.  (and they are a bit more subtle color)

  • And to answer the original question - we don't have one.  We have mostly carpet so never saw a need.  She learned quickly that the hardwood hurts more.
