Waiting on Pre-E results...

So my dr's office did bloodwork on Tuesday, had me do a 24-hr pee collection yesterday and I dropped it off this morning around 11am. I called back around 2:30pm to check and see if they had ANY results back (bloodwork or otherwise) and to check my GBS results- which they tested for THREE weeks ago and never informed me of.

The receptionist at my office had a nurse call me back several hours after my call at 2:30pm to tell me that they didn't have my results back yet.

Even though I got my bloodwork done TWO DAYS AGO.

You still can't tell me if I have pre-e? Seriously? I'm just sitting here, wondering if I'm going to go into labor tonight and have seizures while trying to push and potentially do some serious damage to myself or LO. I know that if things were bad enough that they would just admit me without all the tests- but, still. C'mon. Don't give me any reason to get myself all anxious and worked up.

  • I would be feeling the same way you're feeling! I hate that kinda thing!!! Try to take it easy. If they were really really concerned, they wouldn't have bothered with the testing and just induced your or scheduled to induce you. Even if you have pre-e, it doesn't mean that you'll have any real issues like the ones you've mentioned. I'm sorry!!! ((hugs))

  • That's crazy that your results weren't back yet. I went to L & D on Sun because of a pre-e scare (had some symptoms) and my bloodwork was done in an hour. I would suggest if you do have to go to L&D, tell them that you had the bloodwork done but the results didn't come back. I bet they'll get the results real fast or redo your bloodwork and get the results themselves real quick. I would think that would be a possible lawsuit if you did have pre-e complications during labor and your doc never bothered to check for the results of your bloodwork. About the GBS test, I know that my practice does not call with normal results, but at my next appointment (probably 2 weeks after I had the test done) they told met results were negative for GBS. Good luck, and I hope you don't have pre-e nor GBS!
