Got an awesome shower invite yesterday...

I don't know who the person is that's throwing the shower, possibly an unapproving, snarky family member? It's only an acquaintance of mine, and sadly I won't be able to attend. It's for a bridal/baby shower invite, it reads a little like this: Betsy (not real name) has been blessed w 2 beautiful babies, and will now be blessed with a lifetime of happiness with Timmy (not real name). Join is blah, blah, blah Betsy is registered at BBB and BRU - and remember this is their 2nd child so be creative!

I received a klassy invite the other day too for my SIL's couples shower for their wedding next month: (thrown by her soon-to-be MIL)...

"The theme for the evening is honeymoon fun,

Their destination is Hawaii to enjoy surf and sun.

Don't go shopping for a gift at your local mall,

Just pick up your computer and surf their website is all." Tongue Tied

[BTW, they have an online registry for their honeymoon in Hawaii.. let's just say it's beyond outrageous...plus, they clearly can't afford to go there. But they are!]

"You can share the expense with a relative or friend,

Pick your gift, use your charge card and then just hit send." Ick! WTH?

When I showed DH the invite, he was appalled. Mind you, I've already been to 2 bridal showers for my SIL and gotten her 2 very nice gifts. We think we are going to go to this crazy shower, because if not, it will start drama, but we're not going to like it.

No offense to anyone who had a honeymoon registry, but IMO I think it's completely tacky and tasteless.

Maybe one of us can go instead and take photos and possibly some video, because that's gonna be a winner (I am channeling the Sheen).
