tantrums? ARGH!

Lately, the smallest thing sets T off.  She will scream and I mean scream, not fuss and arch her back and hit her little hands on the nearest piece of furniture.  I always try to redirect and get her interested in something else (often the tantrum is sparked by me taking something away she shouldn't have - like cat food that's about to go in her mouth, ick) but its working less and less.  Phase?  Any tips on other ways to handle?  Its making me crazy!

  • I have no advice. I reckon it's a phase, at least I hope it is.

I am starting to think that the terrible twos start early.  Matt has tantrums ALL. THE. TIME.  Sometimes redirecting works and other times I just do the Love and Logic thing of saying "I know, I know" and just let him work it out.  I was overusing timeouts so I save those for really bad offenses.

  • Sabrina did this a couple times a couple weeks ago but hasn't really since, thankfully. We just ignored it and put her down for a nap or bed, depending on time of day it happened and sure enough she was just tired. Probably not the same with T since she's a bit older, but maybe it's worth a shot??
