My doctor suggested B6 for the nausea when I told her I hadn't filled my zofran. I didn't fill it because early on (crazy me) I was comforted by the sickness and now, I feel like this will be over soon and don't want to fill a prescription now. The first bottle of B6 I bought has a "not intended for pregnant women" warning on the label. I trust my doctor and I know other people on here have taken it, just wondering if it's indeed worth it to go and buy a different bottle of B6.
Re: Success with B6?
i think any B6 is fine - the label is there to protect them, because it's not a prescription, just as other OTC medicines have "check with your doctor if you're nursing or pregnant" on them. I have heard, however, to keep your intake around 50mg - so perhaps these are a really high dose? Also, my midwife told me that taking a 50 mg B6 pill along with half of a Unisom sleep tab is a good combo for M/S.
My OB recommended B6 too. He said I could take 75 mg 3x a day. The pills I got were 100 mg, so I just took them 2x a day. It helped. It didn't make it go away, but it helped.
If I had a prescription for Zofran though I'd go ahead and fill it. Even if it only lasts another week that's 7 days less of suffering IMO.
