So we got DHs open enrollment stuff yesterday. Right now I have insurance through my work and its free. With the state of the economy and I am in Real Estate, I am not sure how much longer the free insurance will last, hell I am not sure how much longer I will have a job because there is no where near enough money in the account to make payroll tomorrow. It will cost less than $100 a month to add me onto DHs and his also covers acpuncture and I swear i read it covers 80% of IF stuff, not including IUI or IVF. I am thinking I should go ahead and get on his now so I am not stressing about it later.

Re: Insurance
I'm in the military, so my insurance is "free", and before I joined I never had to worry about insurance, but that sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I could be wrong though.
Plus not having that stress later seems like it might make it worth it too.
If it would put you more at ease, go for it now.
I think if you lose your job, that may qualify you to be added to your DH's policy at any time, other than open enrollment - but check that out. It's just what I have heard/read on BOTB in the past.

med/treatment free BFP 06/28/10. EDD 03/05/11 *** GIRL #2 (02/23/11)

I'm going to have to disagree with that. It just depends on how good you are at budgeting money. Sure your copays might be lower but you will almost always end up spending more in the end with the more expensive plan just because of the higher premiums. I run the numbers on the plans available to us every year and I always pick the cheapest because I would have to have 100s of thousands of dollars in medical expenses before I break even on any other plan.
Anyhoooo... I would check and see if you losing your job would qualify you to do an add to DH's insurance outside of open enrollment. If not, get added now.
