AW: Where does the time go?

I saw that there are Kindergarten orientations at the local elementary schools this week... and I just realized that a year from now, I will be going to Kindergarten orientation for Payton! OMG!!

It's so exciting and yet so sad. My little girl is getting so big.

Last night she told me, "Mom, you know what will be so awesome? A purple butterfly cowgirl pahhhrty!" (I hope she never loses her little accent) "We can have balloons and cake and butterflies and presents and ponies!!" Then she danced and twirled around all happy. lol

She's only used the word awesome once or twice, but hearing it last night in context with her birthday party made my heart melt.

Dude....TELL ME ABOUT IT! I'm nearly 40 and I have KIDS. PLURAL. The thing that shocks me even more sometimes is that I have a SON. That wasn't something I ever pictured in my little day dreams. And there he is...my little ray of sunshine and serious love of my life (along with his Daddy and sister, of course).

Married 5 years this fall
Nearly 40
A toddler daughter
A five month old son

Yep, it goes fast! And the cute little "Awesome", gets more and more expensive! Kiah just asked me if she can have her "10th birthday" yes I said 10th people freaking 10! at The Great Wolf Lodge.

She had less than 7 years until she can drive. She is half way to being "legal" adult!

Wow, that is crazy! I remember when you posted that you were pregnant!

It is so bittersweet though. All of the new things they learn and do and say is amazing, exciting, wonderful. But then you realize that little squishy baby is gone.

I just had this conversation with my sister the other day. She is sisgning my neice up for kindergarten next month and L has enrollment for preschool coming up as well. Where does time go indeed?
