Fetal Heart Doppler

Has anyone ever tried/bought a fetal heart rate doppler?  After doing A LOT of searching and comparing, I thought this one looked decent, plus with the overnight shpping and an extra bottle of gel, the price wasn't bad.

7 yrs ago I had bought a fetal heart monitor from a local chain store, but I feel like those are not as reliable/more like a toy, and static-y.

This will be my third child.  I felt my first child move at 3 months, my second child at 4 months, and this one at 13 weeks.   I basically want the doppler for piece of mind for when you don't feel any movement, even though it's still early to be feeling any movement.

Thanks in advance Smile

Re: Fetal Heart Doppler

  • wow--that one's really cheap!  awesome!

    i got this one: https://www.clinicalguard.com/sonoline-handheld-pocket-fetal-doppler-p-174.html

just received it on saturday, and was IMMEDIATELY able to hear the HB (at 10w2d).  best.  purchase.  EVER.  especially when i used it again after the nasty m/c nightmare i had saturday night.  it was VERY reassuring after i woke up semi-convinced my dream was real (but this is my second pg, and my first ended in a m/c in october).

i would imagine that, given how far along you already are, pretty much ANY doppler should work fine.  if you were only 8 or 9 weeks, i might worry that something so reasonably priced might not be strong enough--but since you're much farther along that that, i'm sure it'll be fine.  enjoy!

  • I rented one for HearTones.com.  It was awesome.  Then I returned it once I could start feeling movement.  My midwife said its not a great idea to use them that frequently as the soundwaves may bother the baby's ears.
