Anyone NOT having cornbeef today?

I personally do not like the look, smell or taste of cornbeef so I do not intend to have it tonight. DH has poker tonight so it is just me and E for dinner. Anyone else planning on not having cornbeef?

Definitely not... despite Irish heritage in our blood, I DO NOT like corned beef... I actually had an irish woman in our playgroup last week and she said corned beef isn't a true irish tradition anyway. More of an american thing...

I dressed LO in green today, that's our way of celebrating

We are hosting a crawfish boil at our house this evening, so that'll be the main thing being eaten. However, I'll be having chicken since I don't like crawfish.

I believe corned beef is a British/American tradition, and not an Irish one. If you want a traditional Irish dinner to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, go with a fish chowder and Boxty. That's closer to Ireland than corned beef!

Not I- no time to cook it after work. I'm have a St. Patty's potluck instead with spinach and artichoke dip, cheddar and beer dip, green beer, salad and a 12-inch St. Patty's cookie.

We are not having it TONIGHT. But, we do have an annual dinner party where we cook corned beef- one with Guiness and one in stock. This year, we are doing 2 Guiness and one stock b/c it has become so popular. I never liked it as a kid, but now it is awesome! We also don't cook it with potatoes and cabbage- those we cook each separatly and it makes a huge difference in flavor!
