Even though you stay at home? with DD now in the picture too, I feel like he is not getting as much learning time and social time. I know as DD gets older it will change, but I know he gets bored sometimes. What di others with 2+ do?
Lilly goes to Parents Day Out every Friday from 9-1. She love it! I wish she could go two days but they have so many people that are interested, they dont have enough room.
I'm planning on sending DD to preschool next year if she is potty trained in time. One of the preschools has a 2.5 year old class. I figured with me being due in the fall it might help with the transition.
DS goes to preschool one day a week (he's 20 months). His class is technically a MDO program but it's part of a preschool. Next year he will be going 2 days a week. I have 2 older kids who are in elementary school. I send him for the social interaction and honestly, a break for me. Both of my older kids went and absolutely loved it. They learned a lot and were well prepared for Kindergarten.
Our program is part of a church which is common for a lot of preschools in the area.
I just registered DD for "preschool" for next school year. She'll be in a class with other 2.5 year olds for two mornings per week (9-11:30 am) and I can't wait. I think it will be so great for both of us- she'll get extra social & intellectual interaction, and I'll get a few hours each week to spend with the new baby.
My DD (she's almost 3) goes to daycare from 9-3 3-4x week. I go to school FT and work at a volunteer job (required for my degree program). DD loves it. They do preschool stuff in the mornings, and nap in the afternoon. She's in the 3 year old room.
When DD1 was 18 mos, I sent her to a daycare that had a preschool program starting at 18 months. She went 2 mornings a week and absolutely LOVED it. She is now in regular preschool 2 mornings a week. Next year will be 3 mornings a week.
I'm actually debating right now on registering DD2 up for DD1's preschool next year. The program starts at 18 months and there's a long waiting list for that age group. Since DD1 is already in the school, we'd probably get in, but I need to decide by tomorrow! If I don't have DD2 start this next Fall (at 22 months), I'll have to wait until she's almost 3 to start her because of the waiting list. Ideally, I'd start her at 2.5, which is when most preschool programs around her start.

I'm a WAHM so i use the time for work, but all three of mine start MDO at 18 months. I love the program they're in and they love going. It's T/Th 9-2 so a nice length of time for me I get something done, but we can still do things afterward with other moms/kids. It's perfect for us. Call around to local churches. That seems tobe where most MDO programs are around here.
Yep, DS is in part time daycare 3x a week for a half day. He gets to play with other kids his age and participate in structured activities. He absolutely loves it and it gives me a chance to do grocery shopping and get to doctor appointments during this time

ETA: It's 2.5 hours twice a week.
