I grew up with a girl named Blair but I've also heard of a man named Blair. On the online name searches it comes up as unisex. Which sex do you think it should be?[Poll]

I hate how this has become a girl name. On my husband's side of the family it is common for all the guys to have Blair as either their first name or middle name. It is my husband's great grandmother's maiden name.. My husband's grandfather is named Blair, it is his father's middle name and my husbands middle name.
If we have a boy it will likely be a part of their name and I loved it as a first name but I don't think that I will want to now because I don't want my son to share his name with girls he may know.
I don't think it's popular enough to worry about. If you like it for your boy name, go for it! He probably won't personally know anyone else with that name anyway...boy or girl.

Unisex.
boy: Blair Underwood ... extra points for hotness factor!
girl: Blair from The Facts of Life ... extra points for The Facts of Life!
This. It is a truly unisex name (and one of the only unisex names I actually like). Therefore, I can't vote for either one.
With that being said, I would (and have) consider it for a future daughter of my own. I have not (and would not ever) considered it for my future son. But that's just a personal preference, not "what I think it should be." I wouldn't bat an eyelash if someone else wanted to use it for their son, as long as they spelled it correctly.
PP: I don't think changing the spelling to Blare makes it a boy name. It just makes it misspelled. It also looks like the parents named him that because he cried very loudly when he was first born.
Inque: I agree, Blair Underwood is hot.
I now a male Blair and a female Blaire
Typically I am not one for adding extra vowels but in this case I think it makes it seem more feminine.
We considered this as it is a family name (male) but we were going to use it for whatever we had, girl or boy.
GL!
