It's better when they get older. I said to DS1 the other day "Please stop licking the couch."
You could never have convinced me those words would one day come out of my mouth. Ah, motherhood....
Since I have an 8 year old, the list is endless.
"Lauren, I don't think the cat appreciates tape" is one of the more recent ones that comes to mind.
"Just because the baby fits in the kitchen cabinet, does NOT mean you should put him in there"
DH did this and waited for me to open it and find my sweet little baby sitting in there!
"Come on, Gideon! Poop for mommy! Have a good blow out!" - after he didn't poop for 3 days. When he finally did have a poopie explosion, "Yaaaay, he pooped! It's everywhere, but yaaaay!"
"Is that carrots or blood???" after seeing a weird smudge on DS's bib. Apparently it was both. G spit up the carrots, and he had also scratched his lip (I cut his nails every 3 days - they are ALWAYS growing)
"Babe, I'm so tired I don't think even your magic hands will get me there." to DH a couple of nights ago. I ended up being wrong, but I could have killed him when he first made the attempt.
"Is that poop or chocolate?" DH was eating a chocolate bar while holding the baby. It was chocolate.
"Dear, I don't think that the dog appreciates you trying to put the baby on her back" We had just see the E*Trade commercial "Apparently, riding the dog like it's a small horse is frowned upon in this establishment!"
"I'm going laugh if she barfs on you."
"yay! Someone has a stink butt"

I just snorted.
My co-worker was curious so I let her read this and now she is dying. I had a very rough night with DD, thank you for the laugh, it was very much needed.
