Valley Medical Hospital?

Anyone deliver at Valley Medical Hospital in Renton? If you did, what did you think of it?

Re: Valley Medical Hospital?

  • I had both my children at Valley.  Both were c sections (the first unplanned and the second planned).  The Birth Center is newer and I thought the L&D nurses were great.  My first also spent a few days in the NICU and their staff is good also.

If you are looking for an OB, try Associated Valley OB/GYN.  Several girls I know here and elsewhere have gone their and like their docs.  I had Dr. Channel, but I like all of the other ones as well.

  • I just had A at Valley in Dec.  I had a great experience.  We had a planned C-Section due to his size.  Most of their planned C-Sections are taken to the Pediatrics unit on the 1st floor and not the birthing center.  At first I wasn't really excited about that but then was told that they have all of the same services available down there.  A couple big bonuses about being down there were that we had a huge room, it was very quiet since I think the entire time we were there only 2 or 3 other people were down there, and I had a regular hospital bed which was very comfortable.

We had a great experience with all of the nurses down there as well. And we loved our nurse that was with us during the c-section. Like jcyahne said, the birth center is newer and very nice.  I also go to Associated Valley and loved Dr. Kovacs.  I saw 5 out of the 6 Dr there and had a good experience with all of them.

  • I delivered at Valley, and will be again.  I had a C Section, and it was a wonderful experience.  The nursing staff was fantastic, and the lactation consultant was great too.

  • I had both my kiddos there. Both were planned c-sections. Everything went great and I had some really great nurses. I was really embarrassed about needing help gettting cleaned up and in the shower but the nurses made me feel so comfortable. Both rooms I had were huge and when I had my daughter my parents brought my son and he ran around like a crazy person and they didn't even bat an eye.

I had K there a week and a half ago ( non CS:)) and like when I had D there, all the nurses and staff were great. I had some scary complications after giving birth and they were great at keeping me calm and informed on what was going on. I highly recommend Valley, the rooms are large and comfortable even for a couple of days you weren't planning on staying!

  • I had M there and absolutely loved the experience. The nurse I had through delivery was better than I could have expected. It was definitely worth driving from Graham to Renton with major contractions lol

  • I had my son at Valley last month and had a great experience. I had a non-medicated birth and found the nurses to be very supportive. They had great suggestions of different positions to try and were very encouraging.

I second the post who recommended Associated Valley OBGYN, I go to Dr. Kovacs and love her!

  • Thanks for all the responses. I do already have an OB/GYN and in fact have already toured Valley. I really liked it in the tour, I guess I just wanted a little extra reassurance. And all your positive responses did just that! Thanks!
