A little back ground...These last few weeks at work have been very stressful. We are a VERY tight knit group that has been together for almost 6 years. We fired one of our people (good) and our Executive Director left (BAD) so those of us that are left are kind of clinging to one another in the face of change (A LOT of Change). Over the last 2 weeks there have been tears due to impending layoffs and because there is just so much unknown in our future. I am 2000 miles away from my family and these people are my family.
This morning I left our main office and headed to another building where my office is and was talking to my husband. When I went to get out of the car I was trying to carry too many things and dropped the phone and spilled my coffee. So I tried to call my H back to tell him it was fine but his phone went straight to Voicemail. I went into my office put all my stuff down and called again. He answered and said "You better call Kathie (our office manager) because I just called her and told her you fell!"
I try to call Kathy but the next thing I know her car and our property managers car come flying into the parking lot. I run outside and tell them that I am fine. They are both stark white and Chris say's " I was sure you were going to be laying here giving birth..." Nope sorry!
I love this place and these people and I have no idea what I am going to do if all these layoffs come through. I am really very blessed to do what I do with the people I do it with.
