Ladies who opted to give birth without pain meds...

Can you recommend your doctor or midwife? Also, where did you deliver? We are not ready for baby #2 yet, but I need to see someone for my annual and so get BC, and I don't want to have to switch when we're ready for another baby, and I'd like someone who will respect my wishes for natural birth :) Thanks!

ETA: for clarity

  • By natural, you mean med free, correct?

  • I highly recommend Tri-Health Nurse Midwives...they were great! I also had a consult with Dr.Bowen and I've heard from many friends/family that he is fantastic and one of the few VERY pro-natural childbirth OBs in the tri-state. Bowen's office is in Springdale on Rt4 and he delivers at B.North and Mercy Fairfield I believe and the Midwives deliver at Good Sam and their office is across the street from Children's hospital.

  • Seven Hills Women's at the Christ/West Chester/Western Hills locations are very good.  They totally respect what you want and are very encouraging.  I have had 1 pain med free and 2 epidural births and the last one would have been pain med free had there not been a small complication.

    Good Luck and HTH!

This is who I see and they were totally fine with what I wanted. I ended up having to be induced because of a complication and Dr. Stamler was even apologetic because he knew it wasn't what I wanted. All I had was pitocin and it went great. My doula was awesome too and he asked for her card after I delivered in case other patients were looking for one.
