I know I shouldn't complain because I am VERY fortunate to have a job and have insurance. But this is why I am tempted to get a divorce and suck off the government. (that is a joke, please don't take that seriously, even though it is tempting) BC you work your ass off to maintain your job and benefits and then they don't cover crap.
I have been asking my OB's for a breakdown of charges and what is owed to the doctor on what date. Every time I go they always say, "Oh we'll have the office manager call you later on". Or when I call I always have to leave a message. DH and I aren't hurting but we aren't rolling in it by ANY means. So DH brings in the mail today and lokkie lookie. There is a breakdown of what I owe....by my 28th week.
$1013.00 No its not astronomical, but damn. So by 5/1 they want all their money.
Can they deny me care if I don't come up with the $ before 5/1?

we had two options 3 payments of I think like $130 or 5 payments of $107 (don't quote me on the prices)
That is weird that you have to pay it all up front in a large sum...maybe when you go next time pay some of it off.
YOu have the right to pay the doctor whatever you can, as long as you tell them and you always pay each month. You have every right to call and say I need a payment plan of 20 dollars a month and they have to accept it. If you miss one payment though, they can send it to collections.
Don't take no for an answer either. They have to take what you offer. DH has enough medical issues of the years and even currently, trust me on this.
This, just call them and tell them that you can't do their payment plan and you'd like to work out something you can do to get it paid off. We got a similar bill when a few years ago from a riding accident and I was able to work out $100 a month for a year. We paid it off early just to get rid of it, but it was a little more manageable in the months we couldn't do extra.

Thanks Ladies! I feel much better.
