XP: A question you've probably answered a million times...

Would you mind making it one more time? :)  I am packing my hospital bag tonight.  When it comes to packing, I'm a crazy person and I pack like anything can happen. For those of you who have had babies already, what did you pack and what did you really end up using in your bag?

  • If you put this into google:  "hospital bag" site:community.thebump.com

It will bring up TONS of hospital bag posts. I think you may get better ideas that way, as thetopic is pretty worn out on this board and people might not answer.

This is SUPER helpful - thank you for posting this!

    OP:

I LOVED my 2 sets of nursing gowns/matching robes for being in the hospital. I had a c-sec and it made seeing visitors better (vs the hosp gown)

    Nursing bras

Shampoo/conditioner- you will want to take a shower

a blanket and entertainment (book, game boy type device, movie player) for DH. You may sleep a lot if you are there a while laboring before the baby comes and he may want something to do

hair brush, tooth brush, lotion, hair bands - basic daily needs

socks b/c your feet will be cold!

a hoodie, sweatshirt, etc for you

going home outfit for baby and for you if you want one

  • agree with everything in PP, plus camera, cell phone + charger, i sent DH home because I forgot my boppy - it was great to have, some of the baby's blankets (the hospital provides blankets but they are generic and not great for pictures or snuggling Stick out tongue) also i liked to hang out in sweats. hope this helps!

  • Baby nail file!!! My baby was born with longer nails than me and the hospital only had a big nail file, which was hard to use on his tiny fingers.
