Baby Names

Give me some compound names...

My DH really likes compound names for girls. Give me some ideas please! For example you can make them fn and mn and call them by first and mn, or you can make them all one word (this would be harder to do), or you could do a double first name separated by a space or you could separate them by a hyphen (the hyphen option is not really recommended).

Alright, give it your best shot! :)

  • DD is Delaney Ann and my mom calls her Laney Ann. A friend of mine has a daughter Chloe Kate and they use her full fn and mn. Another I think is really cute is Gracie Mae.
  • I like Sarah Jane, Maggie Mae, Mary Claire, Mary Grace and just about Mary-anything.

  • Personally not a fan of Mary___ names. I can't get it out of my head that they sound like nun names.

    I like

    Katy Ann

    Anna Mae

Lena Kay (my grandma's name, but you can steal it :)

    Maggie (anything)

    Cassie Ann

But a lot of these types of names depend on your last name. Shorter last names tend to work better; longer ones seem to "swallow up" the delicate compounds.

  • I like names that end in Jo. For some reason I really like Jo for a girl.
  • Love Lila Jane, too.

Had a Clara-Grace in my preschool class one year

  • I have a current student name Sarah Faye.  I wasn't too fond of it in the beginning but now I love it!  I also like the Katie Grace.
  • Some people I know are:

    Erica Jayne

    Mary Ellen

    Mary Jane

    Ella Mae

    Emma Rose
