Pregnant with 6! YES SIX!!

NOT ME!!! At least, lets hope not! But there is a girl on the pgal board who found out yesterday that she's expecting 6! Her Dr wants her to start thinking about selective reduction and I can't even imagine. I feel really horrible for her, how scary.
6/28/10: Lost our sweet baby Addyston at 18wk 1day to pPROM 7/24/11: Michael William born at 24wk 2d due to IC after an emergent cerclage at 18wks, 4wk home BR and 2 weeks hospital BR. Grow strong our little Miracle! 9/17/11: Michael joined his sister in heaven after 8 amazing weeks with us on earth. He fought a very hard fight but NEC was too much for him in the end.     I saw that!  She posted on the multiples board too.  It sounds like her doctor was wreckless going forward with that cycle and now she and her husband have to make such an awful decision.  My heart goes out to her.  Not sure how you make that decision.

    First, thank God it isn't you!  But how horrible to have to make a decision like that.  I know with modern medicine theres a chance to keep them all but it's always scary with multiples, let alone 6.

    I COMPLETELY agree with you! I even replied to her post on how angry I would be at her RE for moving forward with an IUI with 6 mature follicles and no MFI issues. That is really horrible of the RE to put them in that position.

    yikes!  I really feel for her.  I just read through some of the responses on the multiples board, and there was a lurker who was ballsy enough to respond saying she saw a couple on tv who was pregnant with 6 and they all turned out ok, and they now have a show about raising 6 babies....are you kidding me??  I am surprises none of the MoMs jumped all over that....

    That's just amazingly irresponsible.  I thought things like this were completely inconsistent with ACOG guidelines?  I can't believe the RE thought this was OK.  Did the mom know that they were using 6 follicles?

    I don't know for sure, but I assume yes, since her signature has all the stats and what not.
