Oddly enough, I have noticed a pattern amongst the people I know, and i'm curious if any of you ladies notices the same trend...
So, the people I know with 'apple' body types (carry most of their weight around their torso) hardly have to try, and they are pg in a in a month (or by accident).... I am more of a 'pear' (if left to my own devises) as are some of my other friends/people I know, and they tend to have more difficulty concieving.... coincidence? Thoughts?
Thanks!

Pure coincidence!
I've heard of so many pregnancies in the family, friends and coworkers circle since TTC and women of all shapes, sizes and age have gotten pregnant. I'm still waiting and based on my age, body shape, diet and life style I should have gotten pregnant 9 months ago
Boobs!!

Yeahhhhh ... this is totes BS. I can vouch for that.
I haven't noticed that personally.
What I have noticed is also supported by science: people who are healthy and have fewer health problems also have an easier time conceiving. Since apple-shaped people tend to carry more mid-section fat and be less healthy than pear-shaped people, it would mean that being pear-shaped would be better off than apple-shaped. People who are very overweight (medically obese) are going to have a very hard time getting pregnant spontaneously and without medical intervention.
Yep, this is what I was going to say too. People w/ the apple shape usually have issues with insulin resistance and it's harder for them to conceive.
People just get KU'd-they're everywhere...especially when you're TTC
Apple shapes are sometimes associated with thyroid issues, which can throw off hormones and make conception more difficult, so your logic doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Supposedly, carrying weight in the middle is more problematic in multiple facts of health than carrying it on the lower body. I think that's what I read, anyway.
EDIT: PCOS! That's what I was thinking of, not thyroid.

My gosh, I hope this is true. I've always had disproportionately wide hips, it'd be nice if those came in handy for something.
Well, I'm definitely pear shaped and have been TTC for 6 cycles now, but I think it's probably just a coincidence amongst your friends
