I know this may be personal but has anyone had a tummy tuck post children? How was the procedure? Why did you decide to do it? How were your results? How expensive was it? What was the recovery like? Basically...give me the scoop!
I have not had one, and maybe no one else is brave enough to admit it, but I think about it often. I am very self conscience about my tummy being a little looser and my stretch marks, which are very bad, worse than most I've seen.Everyone says over time it becomes less apparent, but it's been almost 6 yrs since I had my DD and it is still disturbance for me.
I am currently pregnant with #2. When I know for sure we are done (ie DH gets Snipped), and I lose some weight, I will be looking into it myself.

I've thought about it but the risks aren't worth it.
I can't help but remember a story that was on the news about 8 or so months ago. A woman had worked hard to lose weight and got a tummy tuck. She died a couple days later because of a blood clot. She lost her life and her children are now motherless because she wanted a better looking body.
I have some blood clot problems because of previous use of hormonal birth control so I'd especially not want to do it after hearing that story
All of that said, I absolutely H.A.T.E. my flabby stomach and it's pathetic looking but I can't risk my life for it to look better.

Funny how I am reading this post by chance...I just had a full tummy tuck, breast augmentation and lift....on Feb. 1st...it was something I have researched for many years finally decided after countless consultations on doing it for myself. It was a mommymakeover...and being in NYC it was $18000, that was the whole total, for the procedures, overnight stay, private nurse, aftercare appts....and I don't regret it one bit. After three children (16, 5 and 1 years old) I decided that I really wanted this for myself. I know for sure I do not want to have any more children and my husband supported me 110%....I am so happy I did it...big difference. My body has never recovered after my second and third pregnancy that all the exercise in the world wasn't going to help and I was going to the gym 3 times a week. I do have to say it is a long recovery...I am on week 4 recovery and it's coming along nicely...but you will definitely need help especially if you have young children in the house, luckily my mother lives right downstairs from me and she has been there full time for my youngest...havent been able to pick her up at all. I guess the recovery is longer because I had three procedures done at once but the tummy tuck is a major surgery so it takes time to heal. there is alot of risk involve, with my surgeon, he had me take all these natural vitamins two weeks before, asked me to NOT take motrin, advil...etc...(just tylenol) because those other products thin out your blood..two weeks before and two weeks after.
I have no regrets.

I have not, but think about it often. I could never go thru with it though because of watching my friend recover from one. She had gastric bypass and lost 180lbs. She was in good health when she scheduled the surgery. She had severe blood clotting and was intensive care for close to 3 months. She had a ridiculous amount of blood transfusions and had to have stints put in her arteries (or something like that). Her prognosis wasn't good and they were worried about the clots in her lungs moving because it could have killed her. One doctor even said he didn't expect her to make it thru the recovery. Luckily she did but she had an awfully long recovery. She couldn't go anywhere without an oxygen tank once she got out of the hospital. It's been 3 years since her surgery and I think she is mostly back to normal except I think she still takes blood thinners. She was 24 when she had the surgery. That put so much fear in me about cosmetic surgery, I just don't think I could actually go through with it.
I've been thinkg about it since I have a flap due to my c-section. I have about 5 lbs left to lose. I exercise 3 tmes a week and the more I exercise the worse my flap gets. Based on my research the only way to get rid of my c-section flap is surgery.
I plan on having one done once I'm done having kids. I've got stretch marks all the way above my belly button and a puch that makes me look bigger than what I actually am. My DH says I am crazy and that I look fine, but I told him I wouldn't be doing it for him, I'd be doing it for myself.
