  She pretty much played with rattles, teethers, things that clip on the car seat at that age.

  Freddy the Firefly was a fave.

  W loves ANYTHING with lights/sounds/movement. Look for toys recommended for 6mo+ (like the Leapster Learn & Groove Musical Table, which you can use without the legs, for now). That way, he can grow into the toy(s) a bit.

  We had an arch DD could lay under that had lights and sounds, no idea what it was exactly as I got it second-hand.  We also had one of the mats with arches that had toys that hung down.    She loved anything that lit up though.
