Do you have a playroom?

We had water damage (yay for ice dams!) in our guest bedroom so we have to redo one of the walls this summer & DH & I have decided that instead of having a guest room that we rarely use, that we'll make it a playroom for DD.  That being said...if you have a playroom for your LO(s)...what are some fun things you have done for it?  bonus points for PIP :)

Re: Do you have a playroom?

  • The toys were taking over the house so made our dining room a playroom a few years ago.

  • We just moved into a townhouse that has a finished basement (meant to be a family room).  We made that into the playroom for both boys. We have a table and chairs, toy storage, DS's hockey stuff (bit of an eye sore, but oh well), a comfy chair and ottoman, a HUGE bean bag chair and a big igloo tent.  It's still a bit of a work in progress.......

We now have 2 play shelves that are the three rows with a couple baskets in each row from CostCo (just go to their site and search Toy Bin)

  • No PIP, sorry... but, we do have a playroom so i will give you a brief description of it. Walls are buttercup yellow, HUGE red "t-shirt" shag rug, lots of storage units/shelves (such as the one PP suggested with bins, we have a reading corner with  a rocking chair and book sling, music corner (with all her "music toys", a playhouse corner (where toys like the laugh n learn kitchen are kept)... you get the idea.  For art on the walls, I let her finger paint a few pictures and matted and framed them.  I kept the colors all pretty basic (i.e. yellow, red, blue, green).  The curtains are linen colored, but  I bought fabric paint and painted multi colored dots on them.  Check out Land of the Nod and Pottery Barn Kids for ideas.  GL
