What type of bed is your toddler in? If they are in a crib still, what type of bed do you plan to put them in after the crib?
Jacob is still in his crib, but I am not sure if I should convert it to a toddler bed or just go ahead and make it a full size. Or maybe scrap all of it and buy a twin.
decisions decisions....

At their house, she still naps in her crib.
If it's a convertible (our crib wasn't), I would probably do a toddler bed for now, then convert it to the full later.
We moved DD from crib to a queen (I know! but that's what size our extra bed is). She never tried to climb out of the crib but we wanted to transition her well before new baby showed up (about 3 weeks from now) so she didnt think she got kicked out by the baby. She fell out once but never again so we didnt end up getting rails. We also have one side against the wall and use a pillow on the other side of her.
I say skip the toddler bed. It's just another transition you'll have to go through later.
We moved Justin straight to a twin bed when he turned 3. He slept great in the crib, but he was just too big for it anymore, he had a hard time getting comfortable (he's pretty tall).
We didn't have a convertible crib for him, so that wasn't an option for us. We got a twin in lieu of having to buy two beds for him.
Tyler's crib is a convertible, and we will likely just go to the full when he is ready to move to it. I don't see the reason to spend more money if the bed converts to a full, unless you never intend to use it that way. Twin size mattresses and sheets are obviously a lot cheaper than full size.
