  Pop for me! Soda makes me think of fizzy drinks that you got in malt shops back in the 50s.

  I grew up with soda, but around where I live now it is pop. My husband and his family say pop, so if I am around them I usually say pop or else they look at me funny. Though if I am talking in general, it's soda. Hope that makes sense.

  I think I grew up saying pop.  Sometime in HS or before I started calling it soda, and now that is what it is.  Most of my family calls it Pop... oh well I have always been a little different.

  I voted Soda, because that's what I usually call it, BUT I grew up in the South & everyone just says "Coke", so I have been known to just call it that.

  I call it soda, but DH calls them all "coke" too. When I first met him, I thought he was just not paying attention when he asked if I wanted a coke as he was handing me a sprite.

  This is an ongoing debate between my friends.  We live in Kansas City, which is a border town (Kansas City, Ks; Kansas City, Mo).  Missouri people tend to say soda (especially ones from St. Louis) and Kansans tend to pop.  I say pop.  It's the right way to say it.  Booyah.

  SODA! You can add "pop" to my list of cringe-worthy words.

  When H and I went to NY for his family reunion this past year, they all tormented me with the use of "pop" because I made them aware I hated it. ::criiiiinge::

  This was an ongoing battle between my cousins and my brother and I. We called it Soda, they called it Pop. It still drives me crazy.

  Where I grew up (CT) everyone called it Soda.  When I moved out to WA I discovered everyone called it Pop.  Now I kind of go back and forth depending on who I am with.

  Team SODA! The only time I have ever heard "Pop" was when I went out to Ohio for my dad's wedding.. I think its weird, they think I'm weird.. it's all good fun!
