We thought we were 100% set on Jackson, but we are rethinking it now given that the name is so popular, even though we love it. What do you think of Julian instead?

Hands down, Julian!! Your son will appreciate you for it!!
I know 2 Julians under age 8. Both fit the name. One goes by Jude.

Going against all of ya'll .... I still like the name Jackson even of its popularity. In saying that, if that is the reason you are thinking of others, then your best bet would be to go with Julian.
Julian reminds me of Jillian so I've never thought of it as a "strong" name which makes me not like it. That being said, I cannot stand Jackson. I guess I'd pick Julian.

love Julian/Jude. Never been a fan of Jackson (I am from the Mid-Atlantic/South and around here, Jackson was a Confederate General. Kinda taboo).
Edited: Grammar/accuracy
To me, Julian is a much better name!
This! Julian is really nice- unique but not weird, he won't be one of the other 6 Jackson's in his class
