After a huge battle with nap time prior to DST, I successfully moved Keira's nap from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. It worked wonderfully. Lunch was at 12:30 and nap immediately followed. She went down perfect and would sleep for 2 1/2 to 3 hours easily. Nights were better as well since she was getting adequate rest, and she was waking up about 7-:7:30 in the mornings.
Thanks to freaking DST, her schedule is shot to hell. So the new 1:00 is obviously the old 12:00, and we all know how that was going--hence the reason I switched her. She is not sleeping that much later--only until about 8am (which she sometimes slept to anyway) but there is NO going down for naps easy at 1:00pm anymore. I am worn out. It does not matter if we play hard at the house, take it easy, run errands, go to playgroup, etc. She still won't go to sleep.
She has napped some, but won't go down until 2 or later. Yesterday she was in her bed at 1 and didn't go to sleep until 2:30. Then she wants to sleep until 5 and that just can't happen. The few days I have let her because she was so tired she wouldn't go to bed until after 9pm (normal bed time is at 8.)
I have no idea what to do. We played hard this morning and she is still wide awake in her crib. She has been there since a little before 1:30. It's coming up on 3pm. I am at a loss. I have no idea what to do to get her adjusted to real time now. Do I peel myself out of bed at 7am and wake her up in hopes she'll go down at 1? Do you think that will even help? Before DST it didn't matter at all what time she woke up in the morning--she went down for nap at the same time just fine.
Sigh. I am exhausted. I have a new baby coming in TWO weeks from today and I NEED her to nap. When she doesn't she's a wreck. Heck, we both are!
Re: Nap help. Again. DST can go to hell.

Ditto this. DD usually doesn't fall asleep right at naptime, she usually has to wind herself down-about an hour. She does this at bedtime too. That's just kind of her norm. I usually just leave her in there and do like the PP, get her up at the usual time.
