Spring is almost here!

Walking around today and feeling how comfortable and nice it's getting makes me all the more excited to go out and do stuff with LO! I can't decide what I want to do first but I know I want to be outside with him a lot. The zoo or Colonial Williamsburg sound fun to me.

What are some fun outings/things you have planned to do with LO? :)

Re: Spring is almost here!

  • I got really excited today, because I heard birds outside! That's a definite sign of Spring to me!

We have a park within walking distance of our house, and I can't wait to put LO in her stroller and spend the day walking by the river and playing in the grass.

  • I'm a little bummed because every year I take DD to the Cherry Blossom Festival.  This year it's right around my due date, and I'm not sure I'll be able to go (or feel like going).

But I can't wait to take LO and DD to the National Zoo while I'm off, museums, and anywhere else I can go to walk off this baby weight!  Keeping my fingers crossed I make it to the Cherry Blossoms =)

  • Definitely agree about the birds! Hearing them in the morning makes me so happy :)

Im hoping for the possibility of the Cherry Blossom Fest too! Only thing is that I'm not sure that I'll be patient enough to deal with the DC traffic (as if it isn't bad enough any other day) and crazy crowds. We'll see though. It's a toss up between the National Zoo and the zoo in Baltimore for me lol

  • Agreed about the traffic.  I also think if I haven't had this LO, dealing with the people might cause me to either hurt someone, or go into labor.LOL.

I usually take the metro in when I go to DC, it's a lot easier than having to find parking.  I still haven't taken DD to the Baltimore Aquarium and I know she'd LOVE it.  But it's SO expensive!

Sounds like we're in the same area =)

  • Indeed it does! :) I'm up in Frederick (a.k.a. Fredneck), MD.

I would take the metro into DC only honestly, I don't trust it AT ALL anymore. I used to take it all the time when I was little but these days, I hear about far too much craziness going on in the stations or on the trains themselves. Idk, maybe I'm just a pansy :P lol

And it is such a shame that the Baltimore aquarium is outrageously expensive, because it's great! I love it. If you get the chance, I absolutely recommend you try it out. It's extremely nice and lots of fun for anyone. Inner Harbor's pretty nice too. Oh and I definitely recommend the dolphin show :)

  • HAHAHHAH @Fredneck.  Funny I have heard it called that.  I'm in Woodbridge, VA.

I understand about the Metro.  I don't usually take it alone with DD, I try to have someone with me in case I need help.  I def. wouldn't venture out alone with 2 now!

I loveee the aquarium, I just couldn't see spending 30 dollars for DD before now.  She's 5 now, and I think she'd appreciate it more than before.  Maybe I can do that while I'm on leave =)  I love that area too, and its great in the spring!

Lol yea we have a..."healthy blend" of interesting people here. :P I pass by your way all the time on the way to Spotsylvania to visit my grandparents.

I'm definitely planning on visiting the aquarium this summer, even if my LO is too little to know what he's looking at. Who knows? He may enjoy seeing all the different colors of the fish. Plus, it's a nice thing to do with kids in the summer, especially since summers around here have a tendency to be brutal.

  • Probably walks around the park and Kneobels (little amusement park about half an hour away from my house). I can't wait to get out of the house!

lol. I understand the "healthy blend" of interesting people, we have them here too.  I was just in Spotsylvania a couple weeks ago!  Small world =)

Yeh, I have no problem taking DD to the aquarium this year, she will love it, I just couldn't bring myself to do it when I could take her to free places like the zoo when she was younger.  I can't wait to go to Kings Dominion too.  My DD loves it, and the water park/walking there is great. Also expensive though.

  • @htuzzi324, agreed! I need out of this house BAD! It's super nice out today so I'm making DH take me somewhere, anywhere!

Both of you ladies brought up good points. I love amusement parks but I wasn't sure if going to one this summer would be useless or a bad idea because we wouldn't be able to enjoy our time there or whatever. We have quite a few around here (lhicks13, I LOVE Kings Dominion. Although I'd have to say my favorite is Busch Gardens. They are both really expensive though so I don't know if it's really a remote possibility this year) and I really want to go. I'm thinking maybe if we went in a group, like with family and such, it might not be so bad. It's still a big toss up for me. What are your views on going to an amusement park with babies? I see people do it all the time, but typically I people with babies AND other children.

Yikes, I feel like I typed a novel. Sorry!
