Pregnancy Symptoms While Breastfeeding?

We are currently ttc #2 (well, as soon as I ovulate we will be!). The only pregnancy symptom I felt early on with #1 was sore breasts. Since I breastfeed, I imagine that this won't be as noticeable...

So I'm just wondering, what were the first symptoms you felt if you were still breastfeeding #1? How far along were you when you found out?

TIA!

Re: Pregnancy Symptoms While Breastfeeding?

  • I was 12DPO when I tested positive for DD.  The first symptoms were low milk supply, and a racing heart/breathlessness after climbing the stairs.

  • I had a dramatic dip in my milk supply.  I went from pumping 10-12 oz to maybe 3.  Also, I just wanted to add that it took me almost 11 months to get a cycle, and was nursing far less than you probably are your 4 month old.  You may have to wean before having much luck, but I know it's possible and there are plenty of gals on here to prove it.

  • I had a missed period (I got AF back eight weeks after DD1 was born and it was regular immediately).  I tested when AF was about six days late - I was about five weeks pg.  No other symptoms that I noticed, but it was a total surprise and I wasn't really looking for any.

  • I never had any symptoms. The only way that I knew I was PG was that I was late with AF.

  • I didn't really notice a supply problem (though it happened, I realized it later), but i did notice let down was taking forever, which made for a cranky DS. an I couldn't get much at all pumping, like 1-2 oz.

I tested when I was 3 days late. I was having pinkish discharge so I didn't think I was pregnant, or I would've tested right away!

  • Nipples on FIRE and nausea.

  • My supply tanked....but I was in denial and didn't attribute it to being pg until weeks later.  :-/  I thought I had recently AF, but apparently did not.

I'm guessing so as well... I am going to start weaning in the next few weeks so that by the time he is in daycare (in 1.5 months) he is used to taking only bottles in the day. I won't fully wean until I'm pregnant again or he is close to a year old (or my supply tanks!), whichever comes first.
