My take? From what little I can tell about the "real" Brad and "real" Emily, they seem awful sweet and I hope they do make it. I dunno though....seems like perhaps there's too much to overcome.
Lord knows I certainly couldn't watch the guy I was into romance other women!

I think Chantal could have handled Brad better. She really wants to please Brad.
Emily seems to try to saying the right thing. But her action of not wanting to move yet--it would be difficult for them to get to know each other with a long distance relationship. He seems to be more into her than she is.
I was shocked he picked Emily... she seemed too cotton candy sweet for him. I thought he needed some one with fire.
I'm impressed to see she actually has a backbone. Good for her for putting her child first. If it's that important to him, he should recognize that it's way easier for him to temporarily move closer to her to see if they can have a life together... he's got the Bachelor pay-out after all... what's 6 months?

I agree with you! I think she got a lot of flack over how she questioned him on their date, but COME ON she is a mom and he has no experience with kids. It's not like they were dating for a year.
Personally I think Brad is a douche, I hope Emily kicks him to the curb, she deserves better. I think he is shady, hiding something and has a bad temper.
Chantal seems happy with her new dude, she was a cool chick on the show.
an I do think Emily is too good for him. He seems like he could snap at any time. I thought it was so weird how he got all sweaty and mad when she was saying about how it's not all fun being a parent. Not having kids he doesn't know. But we all got exactly what she was saying right??
on good morning America they were saying that people are saying that Emily some sort of strong feminist woman for not moving and for her reaction to this all. Which I guess? But i think she's just a mom who cares about her kid and not a bimbo looking for short term fame like a lot of the contestants.
and I totally agree that brad should move to her for a little while. He clearly could leave for the bachelor so it's not like no one can take care of his bars or whatever. It's completely right to not pull a kid from school and uproot her life if you're not sure. Oh an one thing on GMA said they were trying for a baby?? WTF would that be about if they aren't even sure if they want to get married??
I never saw the "see he could snap" part.....but the whole scene with him being upset when she was questioning him....I thought that was weird and I TOTALLY got why she was asking that...but in the same breath, I can understand why he was getting worked up - it's never fun to have your intentions questioned.

And when you saw her home, if it wasn't already confirmed that she's either from a wealthy family or that Ricky was, it was then. What 24 year old has a home like that when she was also a mom at 18 with no husband.
I think even more than for him, for her sake I hope she does well in life. She just seems really, really sweet.

I definitely recognize the signs of a temper problem with Brad. He is emotional and you can tell he has a hard time controlling those emotions at times. There were a few times during the season when he got mad at people and the girls would call him on it. And tell me that ABC didn't pay for major therapy for him just so he could find love? He has major dad issues, which is probably what his anger stems from.
Emily seems sweet. DH calls her a proper southern girl. BUT I see major insecurities in her. Going on to a show like the Bachelor, you have to prepare yourself to see the dude hookin' up with all the chicks. She could've left at any time (like vampire girl did early on).
I wonder if ABC provides any kind of couples counseling for these guys. They have a vested interest in seeing them last, as they only have 3 successful couples. They need it for sure.
I just never, ever sensed a spark with Brad and Emily. Just awkwardness. There was never a natural flow. Watching how he reacted to her on ATFR though, he seemed totally smitten, while she seemed very guarded. Even during the proposal, it was all him and not her at all.
Reality Steve is just blabbing on, as always, defending himself. He doesn't seem to know the current state of things, other than they are saying they are engaged. The ATFR was just filmed within the last week, so it is current.
One more thing - I think they said right off the bat that whomever he chose would have to move to Texas because he wasn't leaving.
AND I heard that Emily had dated Dale Earnheardt Jr after her fiance died.
I heard this as well, JR has made it very clear that he is the man and won't take anything from any woman. Nice, I am sure it didn't last long if Emily is as tough as she seems.
