Other family places like Great Wolf?

Are there any other family places similar to Great Wolf lodge around here? Like a mini- vacation but have fun things for the kids too? TIA!

Or... recommend your fav "big" place to take your kids (i.e. aquarium, etc).

  • I don't know how far you are looking at...

Birch Bay - has a small water park (outdoor) and then the tide flats are a little boys exploring, muddy dream come true.

Lake Chelan - also has a small outdoor water park.

Harrison Hot Springs, BC - I used to go with a friends family every summer. You can get a cabin on the lake for a pretty good rate, there is a water park and a dinosaur theme park.

  • oh - the dino park is not scary - think the Flinstones not Jurassic Park.

I have very fond (but fading) memories of the Flintstones theme park as a kid.

  • Birch Bay is pretty awesome!

  • We have been thinking of doing Birch Bay this summer. I have heard good things about the water park, and it's only an hour or so.

M loves jungle playland in Mount Vernon. It's fun, pretty empty during the week and has a toddler play/slide/ballpit area.

We also do Jetty Island in the summer. M could spend all day, I hate being out in the sun for that long with no cover, but it's fun.

  • We are headed to Cama Beach state park in 2 weeks for DH's birthday. They have little cabins to rent and its right on the water on Camano Island. DS loves to throw rocks in the water.
