i bought some pearled barley from the bulk bins at my local natural food store so i can make my own cereal for ds (he seems to be having trouble with the iron in the packaged cereal). do i need to rinse the barley before i grind it down and cook it? i know you generallly need to do this with beans but probably not grains, right? i would rather not since i would then need to dry it out -the recipe calls for grinding it down to a powder, then cooking it to a paste with water, then adding BM. so what do you think - rinse or no rinse?
