TTC After a Loss

Tenping/Charting help...new to this...

Ok well since I keep getting BFN (yesterday and the day before) and AF is due Saturday, I have decided to put my thoughts into something more productive, like temping for my next cycle (please dont be one but I am being logical)

Got my thermometer so here are my stupid ?'s:

1. I take the temp before I get out of bed right? What if I hit my snooze 4 times should I take it right when my alarm goes of the 1st time?

2. When I work I get up at 420 am and when I am off probably 8 or so... will I still get accurate reads?

3. So temp should go up day after (or day of?) ovulation? and then drop if AF is coming the day before she comes? And stay hope (oh I hope so) if shes not going to come?

Any other advice I need to know? Oh do I temp while AF is here?

Sorry so long! Thanks.

  • I would suggest going through the lessons or at least the FAQ on FF - that will answer all of your questions.  GL!

  • 1. I take the temp before I get out of bed right? What if I hit my snooze 4 times should I take it right when my alarm goes of the 1st time? Take it the first time your alarm goes off (feel free to hit snooze) after you take your temp, you can go back to sleep and wake up when the alarm goes off again.

    2. When I work I get up at 420 am and when I am off probably 8 or so... will I still get accurate reads? I would set your alarm for 420 every day, on the days you can sleep in, just go back to sleep after you take your temp.... I do that on the weekends.  I think all basal thermometers have memory, so when you do get up, you can check what your temp was to record it.

    3. So temp should go up day after (or day of?) ovulation? and then drop if AF is coming the day before she comes? And stay hope (oh I hope so) if shes not going to come? You get crosshairs after 3 days of high temps.  Charting your temp will only give you confirmation that Ovulation has occurred.

Definately do the tutorial on FF and read Taking Charge of your Fertility, it is a fabulous book and will help you A TON!
