23, 24, 25 weeker success stories please!

Hi ladies,

My friend who has a short cervix is on the verge of 24 weeks and was admitted to continue her bedrest in the hospital. She will get the steroids starting tomorrow and will be put on magnesium on Thursday, just in case. Her doctor gave her the stats on 23 week babies and the numbers aren't good, so she is pretty down and would love to hear some success stories! TIA

  • I went into the hospital at 24w2d due to incompetent cervix - got steroids and was on mag - and was told I'd deliver within 1-2 days at the most. I didn't deliver until 26w2d and my son is 2 yrs old and doing very well now!

    T&P!!! It's so scary.

  • My daughter was born at 26 (possibly 25) weeks and went through lots of scary things in the NICU and is now 100% great.

Also my sister in law had bedrest b/c of a short cervix for all three of her pregnancies and all three babies came LATE.

  • 23w5d success story in my siggie. while of course no one wants to have their LO this early, but there is hope if she does. It was a tough NICU journey for sure but my son is doing great now. Best of luck to her - I hope her LO stays put for many more weeks.

  • I went in at 24 weeks and made it to 26w3d. It's a roller coaster ride but he is doing so well. I was on bedrest for 7 weeks before.

  • My twin girls were born at 25w1d. We spent 108 days in the NICU and came home with zero problems! I will keep your friend in my thoughts and prayers!

  • I went into the hospital at 24 weeks when I was having contractions.  They discoverd my cervix was shortened (totally thinned out), I was already dialated and fully effaced.  I stayed in the hospital for 26 days, then went home on regular bedrest and had my son at 29 weeks, 2 days.  They did not need to give me magnesium until I came back in at 29 weeks because my contractions stopped thanks to drugs at 24 weeks.  When they restarted, they had to admister the mag.  The first week was really scary, especially when they came down from NICU to chat with me.
