Will preemie swaddlers fit at 6ish lbs?

DD weighed in at 5lbs 14 oz today.  I have enough preemie diapers for the next 24 hours, plus an unopened pack.  Will they work for a baby at or slightly above 6 lbs?  Or should I put her in newborn and return the preemie diapers?  How did it work when your baby hit the 6 lb mark?

    Mine were in preemie diapers until about 6-6.5 lbs, but I would try it on her first because the absorbancy is different as they get bigger too. We went to NB on DS first because he needed the absorbancy - he was leaking out the sides of the preemies :)

    They'll most likely work, but I would switch to newborns after they're gone.

    Thanks, I think that's what we will do.  Saves me a trip to BRU to return them!

    I was just contemplating a similar situation. I have 5 preemie diapers left & he is right on the cusp of 6 lbs. I did not know whether to buy another pack of preemie ones or go to newborns now. He has leaked out of a couple of the preemie ones so my thought is that I will go to newborn.

    I would use 'em up! We had gwen in preemies until she was close to 7 lbs. I do know that the tighter the diaper gets on her, the worse her reflux is... not that we are really strapping her in, but you know what I mean!

    Every baby is different.  I think my son was in NB by the time he was 5 lb and when he came home at 7 lb 4 oz he was already in size 1's for at least a few weeks.
