**Addi**

Just wondering how you're doing today and how bed rest is going. Has your swelling/BP gone down now that you've been able to rest?

Not sure if you saw my other post, but I got diagnosed with pre-e yesterday (a combination of high BP and high protein from a 24-hour urine collection, no other symptoms at this point). My doctor pulled me out of work and today was my first day at home. I have an appointment this afternoon and they're probably going to schedule an induction, which I am really disappointed about because I wanted a natural birth.

If you don't mind me asking, have you had any blood tests or urine tests to diagnose pre-e? Or are they still just monitoring it at this point?

Re: **Addi**

  • Hey, I'm doing good thanks for asking. Bed rest is going ok, but I am not very good at resting. Yesterday I did 2 loads of laundry, cleaned out the fridge, and made dinner, but I took a nice long nap after that lol. Today my husband forgot his work shoes when he left the house so I had to go take those to him, and I have to go out later again to drop of my Dr. note to work, and turn in my last time card, but I'm gunna try to spend as much time today laying down on my sides like my midwife told me to.  I have noticed my swelling might not be quite as bad today ( but still definitely there), and my headache is still there but very mild so far, as for my blood pressure, I don't have a way to check at home so I have no idea.

My midwife is super nice, and kinda funny, when she saw that I came to my appointment in slippers she made some comment about how..."if you have to wear your house slippers around I think it's time to stop working"...which is true because these slipper shoe things I have are about all I have that don't pinch my feet to death right now.

I have had blood work, and urine tests to check for pre-e, and so far everything has been coming back normal, but I go back friday for another checkup and sono, and they will do the blood and urine tests again just to make sure. I have a feeling if my blood pressure is still high on friday they may start talking inducing me, I also would like to have a natural birth, but I know I can at least still go without pain meds if they have to use drugs to induce me. I have done a lot of research on how to labor and deliver with out the use of pain meds, and I am comfident even if I have to have pitocin and labor is harder, that I can still do it.
