Pregnant, looking for a new OB
Hi ladies,
I'm new to the Bump and got excited to see the DFW board. I leave in Murphy (if not familiar, think Plano-Richardson area). I'm 5 weeks pregnant and need an OB, I had one when I lived in FW, but now living here and pregnant I definitely need to look for someone.
Any recommendations, I prefer a woman, but it's not my only option. I'm looking for a Dr's office that is smaller, nice Dr, and staff. I loved my FW OB and hate not being able to continue now with my pregnancy there.

I live near Murphy too, but my OB is nowhere near me. Her name is Dr. Innes and she's up in Frisco near the Stonebriar Mall. I love her, though, so it's worth the commute to me. She delivers at Baylor Frisco (which I also love...had both my boys there) and I think Presby Plano too. Good luck!
My Ob is in Mckinney which is around 20-30 min from Murphy. Thier name is Comperhensive OBGYN, they have two women and two men. They deliver in Allen and Mckinney. They are AMAZING. The number is 214-733-8001...

Dr. Robert Downey is in Richardson. He's at Renner and George Bush Tollway. GREAT Dr! Small practice, it's just him, a MA and nurses. Very straight forwards, doesn't BS. Doesn't do unnecessary tests. Delivers at Richardson Regional (I highly recommend!), Medical Center Plano and Baylor Richardson.

He is not a woman but he is AWESOME! His name is Dr. Frank Oliver & he is at medical city Dallas. He has been in practice for 27 years & has been named one of America's best OB's since 2004. He is the only Dr. in his practice so he will be the one that deliver's your baby. When you have questions or need to talk to his Nurse, Maggie, she will ALWAYS call you back the same day. I can't not say enough amazing things about him, he is personable & takes his time to get to know his patients. I has an awesome delivery, no tearing or episiotomy needed due to his experience in delivery. I feel 100% positive that if it weren't for his approach that my DD would not be here today. I was diagnosed with incompetent cervix & he diagnosed it during my 24th week. IC is usually only caught after a woman has had 1 or more miscarriages. He personally went to bat for me & directly called my STD insurance company when they were questioning my bed rest claim. I know he's not that close to Murphy but I live in Prosper so I'm a little farther away from his office than you are.

Dr Darrell Jordan at Medical City (75 & 635) is wonderful. I wasn't sure about going to see a man, but i LOVE him and he's been nothing but awesome for the last 7-8 years that I've seen him.

Mine is at Womens Health Alliance at Baylor and I love her, and they also have offices in Mesquite. Dr Romberg - love her. They also have a midwife on staff Cecily Floyd who I also highly recommend.
However my doula suggested a few other OB practices that might be more convenient to you.

Dr. Leisl Smith at Heath Central Women's. She's great! And they have several other doctors there in case yours isnn't available or possibly on vacation when your baby is born.

Surprise BFP# 5 - 9/2/16 - Due 5/13/17
Mine is Dr. Ivan Rovner. When I first found out I was pregnant with DS1, I was referred to him by a friend. He is AWESOME, as is his staff. He delivered both of our boys and we are now friends with him, his family, his staff, etc. I go to him with EVERYthing. He's a no-BS-doctor and puts his patients' well-being first. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Never a wait for appointments. He's delivered 1000's of babies - been doing it for 30+ years. Health of moms and babies is his priority. We're done having children, but he makes me want to have more so I can go to the office more often. They're THAT awesome.
Office is in Plano right next to Medical Center of Plano, right now, but they're moving to a new office closer to Plano Presby very soon. He's also affiliated with Baylor Frisco.
