As I wrote in a previous post my DS isn't Dx'd but he has quite a few symptoms that I question and I'm still struggling with.
I wanted to know specifically, my son sometimes has trouble clearly explaining himself while talking. But when he writes (on the computer b/c his handwritting is atrocious) it's like a whole different kid. He's creative and funny. He has well thought out ideas. I feel like this is the window to my son's real personality and thoughts. He doesn't write the repeative phrases. He doesn't write the lines from stories/movies/tv shows. He doesn't even always write about his special interests. His grammar and syntax are age appropriate or even above.
Do you experience this or has anyone else that you know?

Here's a link to a news story re a non-verbal autistic girl that everyone thought had a low IQ until she learned to type:

I don't hae any first-hand experience with this, but I imagine it is not unheard of.
