Hunter's Scheduled C/S Birth! PsIP

DH and I checked into the hospital at 6 am on 3/4, I was 39w 1d. My mom came out to see me before they took me back. The nurse got my IV started and put a foley in (yuck!) The anesthesiologist and CRNA came to see me, and ask me some questions. A few minutes later DH said he was going to run to the bathroom and of course as soon as he walked out they came to take me to the OR. I immediately got nervous, I wanted him there when they took me back.

They got me to the OR and I scooted onto the operating table (it was about 7:15), sat up for the spinal... that was terrible (it didn't hurt I was just overly nervous)... ugh! Evidently my vertebrae are very close together, they kept hitting bone instead of getting in between the bones. They finally got it in and got me lying down. Then everything was a whirlwind! They were prepping me, I saw my doctor suiting up and finally saw DH in his white jumpsuit! He had the camera and was trying to get a pic of me through the door!

My spinal was taking longer than usual to navigate up as high as they need it to be so they angled the bed to where my head was down and my feet were up in the air. Finally it got where it needed to be, they let DH come in, he bent down and kissed me, I started getting all emotional then! I was so scared and excited all at the same time!

The doctors started the procedure, he was talking to me about this and that, we were all having a good time being silly, then he said, "time to stand up, Dad!" DH got all kinds of pictures as they were pulling Hunter out of my womb.

Hunter Bradley III was born at 7:48 am weighing 8 lb 2.5 oz and he was 20.5 inches long. He cried immediately,and is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!

We have had a challenging week and a half, BFing has been difficult, but he is catching on (I have had to use a nipple shield to get him to latch), before the shields Hunter was not sleeping much and was crying A LOT. But now that his belly is getting good and full he is much much happier and sleeping so much better!
