Recommend your OTC prenatal

I can't take much more of the chewable ones I got at target, and the regular horse pills are intolerable too. is there anything OTC that's halfway decent? I don't care if it's chewable or not. Thanks! (alternatively, if you take an rx prenatal that doesn't cost a lot, I'd love your recommendation. I pay a deductible so consider the actual cost of your rx, not just your copay.) TIA!

  • I use the Up & Up (generic?) brand from Target.

  • Just got some of the CVS brand, and it seems okay thus far. Where I live, CVS vitamins were recently on sale (2 for the price of one), so I ended up getting 600 pills for $20. I hope I keep liking them, because they'll last me through the pregnancy and the first year afterward.

Oh... I am also taking fish oil. Sundown Naturals.

I take Vitafusion Prenatal Gummies w/ DHA from Target.  $11.99 for 90.  I love them!

These. Got mine from Food 4 Less (Kroger) here. I love them! I didn't take my prenatlas last pregnancy because I couldn't swallow the huge horse pills of them last time. I ended up gagging on them and making myself more sick. So far these gummy ones are great!

I have a chewable kind and I have this generic brand from Target. The pills are not too large.

  • I am using Rainbow Light pre natal one a day....$9 for 50.

They are vegan, and naturally chelated...not that I am a vegan but it sounded healthy...and compared to the $20 -$30 vitamins on the shelf, actually had more nutrients.  They are kinda big, though...so I take it with a GIANT gulp of milk.

  • The generic brand from target don't make me gag like the natures did.  I take them before bed and don't get nauseous either.

This and they rock. They don't have any iron in them which is definitely a downside, but I've increased the iron in my diet because these are about all that I can tolerate from the vitamin world.

  • When prenatals were a no go for me, I bought folic acid and drank those shakes (can't remember the name) that are full of vitamins. The recommend them for older people who don't eat enough to get full daily values. I'd drink them after they were in the freezer and had a slushy like texture. The chocolate and vanilla were very do-able...

  • I'm taking the Rainbow Light Complete Prenatal System. I picked this particular one because it's a food based multivitamin and is high in greens and also has probiotics right in it.

I take three in the morning and three at night. There are a total of 360 tablets in the bottle and it was around $60.

I went with these specifically for the probiotics and the green inclusion. My Mother swears up down and sideways that the only way she was able to carry my brother and I (after having lost three pregnancies before us. one in the fifth month) was because she loaded herself with dark leafy greens. I figure that it may not pertain to me but I'd rather take giant green horse pills that make my pee look like I'm eating highlighters rather than risk going through what she did.

  • Im taking Nature's Bounty Your Life Multi Prenatal Vitamins. I love them because they are softgels. Dont have to worry about the after taste like some tables. Very easy to swallow. Got'em from CVS, 60 for $11.99
