Prefolds are intimidating!

Last night I tried and tried and tried and just couldn't get the darn thing on correctly.  After refreshing my brain on some youtube videos, I attempted it again this afternoon.  After Jake's bath today, we had a nice long discussion.  I gave him a pep talk about how he was going to hold still for mommy while she slapped it on his bottom, and he listened!  It was a little bit easier this time around.  Phew!

Re: Prefolds are intimidating!

  • At our infant care class, my husband and I were given pre-folds since I said I planned to use cloth, and we couldn't for the life of us get them on the doll.  I hope it's easier on an actual baby! That being said, I've bought some of the fuzzibunz/bumgenius/kissaluvs to try out.  I have a feeling that's how cloth diapering will have to go for me...

  • Don't worry! It gets so much easier. We're on week 5 with prefolds and could do it in my sleep. However Quin still screams nearly everytime I change him. Maybe he just needs a pep talk too!

  • I do have lots of KL0s and BG xs bamboos, but I want to master these prefolds!  I want to be the mom who's like, "Yeah...Jake's got a Diaper Rite prefold on jelly roll style with a Bummis wrap over it!"

  • Not sure if you've seen these videos, but I think they're pretty good.  Of course, I haven't done this on a real baby yet!

  • I just tried prefolds last night...it's hard to jelly roll when the LO is kicking up a storm! But, we did good! I do disposables during the daytime since my mom is here staying with me, but at night when it's me, I'm CDing!

  • I have a whole pile of CD in E's room and I'm so far from trying them out right now! She's still under 8 pounds though and nb sposies are still big for her so there is no way a one size HH or BG is going to fit on her tiny bum anyway.

  • I practiced the angel fold on our Sleep Sheep, for lack of another volunteer. I'm sure LO will be more wiggly, but there will (hopefully) also be no tail.
