Re: SPENT AN HOUR PATTING BOOTY.

  • I learned a GLORIOUS trick today, laying him on his belly across my knees and then jiggling my legs. Luckily, I have always been a leg bouncer (like when bored) so I could do this for HOURS. Give it a shot?

  • DS also has his moments (happens a lot now) where he refuses to be put down and even if he is dead asleep will pop his eyes open and scream bloody murder. So I will recline on the couch a little with him on my chest and put my laptop on my lap and do work that way.

My MIL just suggested this to us on Sunday when DD was fussy and it worked for a bit.  Unfortunately most of the time when DD is on her stomach she tries to hold her head up, which is great for tummy time but made it a little hard for her to relax in that position.  I think eventually she did relax for a bit, tho.

I'm a leg bouncer too, so if she would be okay with that I'd totally be up for it. Unfortunately, she starts kicking and pushes herself so that her head is hanging like a wet noodle from my knees. If I readjust, we just go through it again. How I wish this would work for me! She's laying propped up on the couch right now at my feet, but for real... ugh.

  • We have been like this for two days now... and now I am regretting all the nap holding we have done during the day. He isn't hungry, no burps... doesn't want to sleep and wants to be held all the time. I just need time to pee and make dinner darn it!

I am going through this right now as I type. He was sounds asleep. I put him in his swing and BAM, he's awake and crying. There is nothing wrong with him except he is being a fuss pot. He has started this in the last 2 days and I hope it's a short phase because I just don't know wha to do besides hold him and I can't possibly do that with 2 older kids, a house that needs food on the table, clean clothes to wear and a clean toilet to sit on. My LO can't be on my lap though for long either. I laughed Tiff when I read this because Brayson is like a wet noodle too. The only thing that sootes him all the time is me holding him upright in my arms over my shoulder rocking back and forth. AAHHHHHHH!!!!!

  • I found out last night that my DD likes to fall asleep in the Baby Bjorn while dancing to Queen. Even after she's asleep she knows when I'm sitting!

Just realized the Baby Bjorn rocks!!  I put her in it and walked around the house, she fussed for 2 minutes, then passed out!  I was able to unload the dishwasher and get dinner started before DH got home (sort of...turned on the oven, which I didn't realize had a whole bunch of drips from when my MIL made turkey in my oven last week, and then freaked out when smoke started pouring out bc our fire alarms are SO annoyingly sensitive...fanned the smoke alarm for 10 minutes so it wouldn't go off...)  But anyway, success with the Baby Bjorn today!! :)

  • Have you tried turning on a hairdryer? I discovered this today, and it totally knocks her out!
  • I am so glad I'm not the only one having some clingy baby issues these days!

  • So glad I am not alone. LO had been awake for about four hours now without falling asleep. I brought her into the kitchen and turned on the microwave fan in high and it helped but she woke up when I moved her into the other room. Tiff you might want to try that.

This!  All weekend every weekend DH will have DD in his arms, and I feel the pain every Monday-Wednesday when she craves being held constantly... Ugh!
