Toddlers: 24 Months+

Almost 3, Potty-Trained 3 mos, now 3 nights of accidents

Could this possibly be linked to daylight savings time? My DS has been fully potty trained for three months and now the last three nights he's had accidents. The first night was minimal, the 2nd night was full-blown and he didn't wake up, and last night he woke me at 3am at use the potty, but had already gone some. This is the first time it's happened since he basically went cold turkey in briefs. Do I offer him a pull up or just make sure to cut liquids an hour early since ultimately he's going to be an hour earlier due ot daylight savings time? Thanks!

  • Is there perhaps something else going on developmentally? DD has been more or less PT since June of last year. She has had two bad spells of accidents (where they happened a few days in a row). The first was when she was going through a particularly bad bout of teething in September and the second was when I left her overnight for the first time in December. I left her with DH, but she was a MESS that weekend- had accidents left and right and even on Monday and Tuesday after I returned. So much goes on in their minds and it's all linked to their bodily functions.

  • My DS goes through phases every once in a while where he will have accidents a few days in a row, then be perectly fine again.
  • agreed - we had total success with PT so quickly, that about a month later i was totally caught off-guard when she had two accidents out in public (AHH!) and multiple overnight soaking of her sheets.  it was so so weird, we didnt know what to do, but she REFUSED to wear diapers even overnight, it was madness.

anyway - yeah, they have many phases, who can say.  good luck!
