Summer Infant Video Monitor Help (XP)

We are moving Alex to his own room and are finally using our Summer infant video monitor (the single black and white TV). It sucks.

We've tried changing the ABC channel, moving the antenna and adjusting the dials. The only time we get a semi decent picture is when we physically pickup and hold the TV monitor.

It was a gift we received almost a year ago, so I don't know that I can return/exchange it.

Any suggestions for getting a picture out of the thing?

TIA!

Re: Summer Infant Video Monitor Help (XP)

  • Hmm, IDK.  We have that one and don't have trouble with the picture at all, and DS' room is pretty far away.  Is there anything interfering with the signal?  I know ours doesn't like the cordless phone, so I had to move it to another place in our room.

  • I had that one to begin with and used it up until DD#2 was born (we switched to the handheld with two cameras at that point).  We pretty much had to leave it in one location and not move.  I also didn't use the sound with it -- the low volume setting was much higher than I wanted for sleeping so we used a sound monitor too, and just had the monitor on with the sound off.

  • We ended up moving the tv part to an area that didn't have anything else plugged in, and that helped some.  Overall, I like the video monitor idea, but not this model (even if the picture was clearer.)
