1st appointment a bust

I had my first appointment today, and it was very uneventful. They took my vitals, gave me a bunch of information, did family histories, gave me a flu shot and sent me to the lab for hcg levels. No peeing in a cup, no exams, nothing. She basically took my word for it that I was pregnant and will call me Wednesday with the hcg levels. Soooo.. I came home and POAS to ease my mind : ) and it was still a BFP.

    My OB always does blood work, pap, history, and pregnancy test. Maybe yours comes later?

    She said PAP and OB blood work up would be next visit, along with an ultrasound.. in 4 weeks. I have no patience and was looking forward to a doctor saying "here is proof you're pregnant" since i have hardly no symptoms, just tired in the evenings and sometimes cramps/sore boobs. She just laughed and told me to be thankful. Hence why I POAS tonight.

    Getting blood drawn is far more accurate than peeing in a cup, that's why your doctor did that.  Unless you have experienced a loss(es) or have known fertility issues, that kind of appointment seems pretty standard.  I know it can be tough to wait for that first ultrasound, but it's coming.  I hope that time flies for you while you wait!

    I totally understand! I had my first appt yesterday and all I did was pee in a cup, take my weight and blood pressure, and ask questions. No bloodwork, no family history, nothing! I was disappointed like you - I guess I'll just have to wait to get this show on the road at my next appt, I'll be 9 weeks then. No u/s till i'm 16-20 though.
