Are you doing an Easter basket?

I am debating whether to do an Easter basket. I did one for E last year but I doubt she really would care this year. I was going to wait and do one next year.

If you are doing one, what are you putting in it? Are you doing ones for you & DH as well?

Re: Are you doing an Easter basket?

  • I love doing Easter baskets!!! For DD #1, who is 9- I will do things that she loves- beef jerky, fruit rollups, some small book of some sort, a activity book, licorice, and maybe a few other small things. And then for DD #2, who is 2- fruit snacks, raisans, peanut butter mm's, gummie bears, marshmallows and maybe a coloring book! And I usually get some type of small stuffed animal!

  • I think DS is going to be so much more fun this year with it!  I'm putting bubbles, books, play doh eggs, animal crackers, pez, and a giant chocolate bunny in his basket.  He's not really into sweets so he probably won't eat the bunny, but I want to take pictures of him playing with it, really.

We're also planning to decorate plastic eggs with him with stickers and stuff the night before. Then after he goes to bed, DH and I will stuff them with pennies (for his piggy bank) and probably some jelly beans to do an egg hunt in the yard.  We're going to do chalk bunny prints on the driveway and around the house so he can follow them to find his easter basket.

  • I found a Lighting McQueen easter basket that I know DS will flip out over, so I bought him that, a pack of Mickey Mouse hot wheels and will just put some candy in it. Nothing too big.

  • I'm doin gone, but I have no idea what I am going to put in it this year. I know that he will get some bubbles again. Maybe some other outdoor stuff since its so late this year.

  • You really think your DD wouldn't care? DD love hers last year, we recorded her adorable excited reaction it was priceless! She was just 22 months too. This year she really "gets" it and we've explained the traditional Easter bunny story and she is psyched for it! This is the first year we are going to hide eggs in our yard for her too, last 2 years we just took her to the one at our church. In her basket so far: Disney princess ballerina water toy, a little chapstick (she's obsessed with mine), a ball that lights up when bounced and a big chocolate bunny (also the first time she's getting one if these). We will fill eggs with little cookies, fruit snacks and dried fruit.

  • We usually spend Easter at my parents' house, so I let my mom take care of the basket. I don't see the point in DD getting two baskets and I'm not into telling DD tales about the Easter Bunny/Santa/other invented Christian-tradition folk, so I really just let my parents handle all of that however they wish.

  • We're definitely doing one. I'll probably put in some candy, a big chocolate bunny, some bubbles, a small book, and a little toy or two. Nothing major, but she'll be really excited about it.
  • Yes, I'm doing one for DD. It's her last holiday as an only child. We got a book, a few outfits, bubbles, Little People easter figurines, a few other things.

We don't do them for DH and I but my mom does a "family" basket for the three of us.

  • Yes, we are doing one.  I actually think DS will enjoy it more this year than he did last year because he understands more now.  I also know he will enjoy an egee hunt more this year too.

The items I plan to put in his basket are: Books, crayons, markers, socks, tootbrush, chapstick, Hot wheels cars, goldfish crackers, playdoh, temporary tattos, a ball, some smaller bouncy balls, a bug viewer, coloring books, legos, and a bit of candy.

  • We are doing a hunt. We will spread some loot out across the backyard and DS will "hunt" them. Plastic eggs full of mini chocolate bars. Thomas the train flashcards. An "Up" book and a "Bolt" book. some peeps, and his big prize will be a three wheeled "preschool" lightning mcqueen scooter.
